Overview:
As the Associate Attorney for A Bankruptcy & Creditors Law Firm, you'll represent our clients in court hearings, mediations, and litigation in DC and/or Maryland courts. Our goal is to help you become a well-rounded attorney that can effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and the court. Your success will expand A Bankruptcy & Creditors Law Firm's local reach, while simultaneously developing your personal brand as a foremost expert in our space.

Job Description:
  • Advise and represent clients in default related services including foreclosure, evictions and bankruptcy
  • Review, prepare, and file legal documents
  • Conduct basic litigation in DC and/or Maryland State Courts
  • Communicate with our clients, colleagues, courts, and others involved in the case
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for business clients
  • Work extensively with staff to meet deadlines and client requirements
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and litigation
  • Prioritize and manage an assigned case load, while demonstrating attention to detail
  • Develop and share subject matter expertise with internal and external clients to move files and achieve client goals

Qualifications:
  • JD Degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice and in good standing in DC and/or Maryland
  • Title knowledge preferred
  • 1-3 or more years experience practicing law in the area of real estate or creditors' rights or strong desire to learn these practice areas
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to balance and prioritize a high volume workload
