Responsibilities:
  • Build meaningful, trust-based relationships with clients by understanding their lives, goals, and values—not just their legal needs
  • Serve as the client's primary legal advisor and point of contact throughout the relationship and beyond
  • Strategically lead client matters by setting legal direction and delivering proactive, tailored counsel
  • Consult with clients to determine planning techniques aligned with their specific goals
  • Draft and initiate estate plans, court petitions, briefs, and client memoranda
  • Review, revise, and approve all legal work product, including that prepared by non-attorney team members
  • Represent clients at court hearings, meetings, and consultations with clarity and confidence
  • Monitor all matters through the pipeline to ensure timely progress and resolution
  • Maintain regular client communication across multiple channels (phone, email, letter, and text) to stay connected and responsive
  • Effectively and efficiently close client matters, ensuring a smooth and complete wrap-up of services
  • Collaborate with support staff to meet deadlines and achieve key performance indicators
  • Uphold the firm's core values in all internal and external interactions, including with clients, court staff, vendors, and partners
  • Ensure full compliance with the California Rules of Professional Conduct and uphold the highest ethical standards
  • Protect the client, the firm, and the reputation of the legal community from harm through diligent and responsible practice
  • Educate prospective new clients about the firm's services and value-driven planning approach
  • Serve as an ambassador of the firm in client relationships and at external events
  • Meet weekly with supervising attorneys or leadership for matter reviews, performance feedback, and ongoing coaching
  • Travel as needed for client meetings at designated locations
  • Attend and participate in professional development events, seminars, and workshops
  • Carry out the firm's mission with a consistently positive, professional, compassionate, and empathetic demeanor
  • Actively listen and contribute to a collaborative, supportive team culture
  • Accurately track and record all billable and non-billable time at least twice daily per firm policy
  • Contribute to a client-focused, relationship-driven legal culture that prioritizes connection, care, and clarity

Qualifications:
  • Active license to practice law in good standing with the California State Bar
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in estate planning and probate, preferred 10 years of estate plan drafting and probate court experience
  • Experience with Clio or similar practice management software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ongoing compliance with California continuing legal education requirements
  • A persuasive communicator and natural relationship-builder
  • Energetic, fast-paced, and comfortable multitasking
