Job Overview:
We are seeking a part-time Associate Attorney with a minimum of 5 years experience in probate and trust administration. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage client matters with both technical skill and empathy. This role is well-suited for an attorney looking to refine their practice in probate and trusts while working a flexible schedule. This is a hybrid position that requires two days in office each week.

Duties:
  • Draft, review, and file probate petitions, pleadings, and related court documents.
  • Assist with trust administration, including preparation of notices, accountings, and distributions.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on probate and trust issues.
  • Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, and fiduciaries with professionalism and sensitivity.
  • Represent clients in probate hearings and related court proceedings (as needed).
  • Maintain case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with court requirements.
  • Collaborate with the principal attorney and support staff to move cases efficiently.
  • Meet with existing and potential clients

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the State of Washington (in good standing).
  • 5+ years of experience in probate, estate planning, or trust administration preferred (willing to train the right candidate).
  • Strong legal research, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and empathy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software (experience with Clio is a plus).
