Description:
Small law firm seeks an entry level attorney familiar with the NYC Family Courts; the successful applicant will join a team of attorneys and paralegals, have excellent litigation skills, and superior writing skills. The position requires the ability to problem solve, in-person and virtual court appearances, along with heavy client contact. Responsibilities include managing a daily calendar, drafting documents, as well as handling all aspects of client matters from initial contact to appeals.Focus will be foster care litigation, adoption, surrogacy, assisted reproduction, custody, appellate brief writing.
Salary commensurate with experience, health insurance and other benefits are available.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to the state bar and in good standing
- Strong demonstrated interest in Family Law
- Proficient in legal drafting and research techniques
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
