Description:

Daw & Ray, LLP is seeking a motivated and detailed-oriented attorney with 2 to 4 years of civil litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have strong work ethic, excellent research and writing skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage/assist with cases from inception through resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the supervising partner to manage a case load of civil defense matters, which includes sex trafficking, auto-accidents, and premises liability cases.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Draft client reports.
  • Attend hearings, conduct depositions, and assist with trials. Deposition experience is preferred but not required.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze case law.
  • Timely capture and entire worked/billed hours.
  • 160 hours per month required.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the Texas Bar in good standing.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in civil defense litigation (required).
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Ability to critically analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to promptly communicate with clients, supervising partner, opposing counsel, and any third parties.
  • Ability to work on managing time effectively to complete assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Proficiency in capturing billed hours.
