Gfeller Laurie LLP, a dynamic and growing litigation boutique law firm with a national practice seeks a confident associate attorney with 2-6 years of litigation experience in civil defense and insurance coverage. The ideal candidate will have experience in both areas. As to defense matters, the associate will assist in defending clients in a wide range of civil litigation matters from personal injury claims to complex commercial disputes. Our civil defense litigation associates are highly valued contributors, responsible for day-to-day case management, reporting to clients, handling written discovery, attending depositions, court appearances, trial preparation and trials. As to insurance coverage matters, the associate will complete research and writing on complex insurance coverage and bad faith issues and will assist in defending insurers in coverage litigation including defending against bad faith and unfair practices claims.Strong analytical, organizational, research and writing skills are crucial to this position. The successful candidate will work closely with the Firm's partners, must be well-versed in the Connecticut Practice Book and all aspects of Connecticut practice and procedure and must have a genuine interest in developing sophisticated civil litigation experience and skills in both the defense and insurance coverage contexts.
Admission in Connecticut is required; additional admissions in New York and/or Massachusetts are advantageous. The position is for residency in the Firm's West Hartford, Connecticut office. Competitive salary and benefits.
