Boutique Los Angeles plaintiff-side law firm is seeking an associate attorney with approximately 3–9 years of litigation experience to join its practice. The firm handles sophisticated and high-impact civil litigation, including mass torts, class actions, insurance bad faith, and other complex matters.We are looking for a smart, motivated attorney with excellent research, writing, and analytical skills who is interested in taking on meaningful responsibility in complex cases. Experience in the firm's specific practice areas is welcome but not required. We value strong litigation fundamentals and are open to candidates from a variety of plaintiff- or defense-side backgrounds who are interested in developing expertise in these areas.
Candidates should be comfortable with California discovery and motion practice and proficient in legal research using Westlaw.
The position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys on significant cases while taking on substantial responsibility appropriate to the attorney's experience level.
Qualifications:
- Active membership in the California Bar
- Approximately 3–9 years of litigation experience
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong academic credentials
- Experience with California discovery and motion practice
- Proficiency with Westlaw
- Ability to independently analyze legal and factual issues, exercise sound judgment, and make recommendations in consultation with senior attorneys
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex matters
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
- Experience with mass torts, class actions, insurance bad faith/coverage, or other complex civil litigation is a plus, but not required
- Plaintiff- and defense-side litigators are both encouraged to apply
The firm is based in Los Angeles and offers a flexible work environment. The position may be fully remote, and candidates located outside the Los Angeles area are welcome to apply. For attorneys located in or near Los Angeles, the firm offers the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis and collaborate in person at the firm's office. Occasional travel or in-person attendance may be required as appropriate for hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, client meetings, or other case-related matters.
