Job Summary:Xavier Law Firm is seeking a highly motivated Bilingual Associate Attorney with 2–3 years of legal experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage a caseload focused on criminal, family, and civil matters including, but not limited to: divorce, SAPCR, estate planning, wills/probate, contract disputes, and criminal cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients professionally in court, mediations, and legal proceedings
- Attend hearings and scheduled appearances
- Lead and support assigned legal team members
- Evaluate case details and develop legal strategies
- Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, discovery, memoranda, and briefs
- Analyze complex legal issues and provide sound legal advice
- Prepare and file documents with courts and relevant agencies
Qualifications:
Required:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in Texas
- Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written)
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a practicing attorney
Skills & Abilities:
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong legal writing and analytical abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet multiple deadlines
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong client service orientation
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care
Preferred:
- Experience working with trauma survivors (e.g., domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault)
- Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity
- Prior work with immigrant communities
