Job Summary:
Responsible for handling all legal matters pertaining to bankruptcy and/or foreclosure cases placed with the law firm. This includes, but is not limited to, hearings, pleadings, oversight and working with the clerical staff that supports this vertical as well ask assisting the Managing Director with special projects and business development.
Job Duties:
- Maintain a caseload of mostly bankruptcy/foreclosure cases to meet or exceed client expectations.
- File review, including document production, execution and at times filing.
- Attend court hearings either in person or through telephone/video conferences.
- Communicate with clients, management and employees both orally and in writing.
- Handle all relevant legal matters pertaining to the portfolio or cases assigned.
- Suggest ideas for improving operational efficiencies and streamline workflows.
- Update law firm's time billing software with all relevant information and assist to approve bills and invoices.

Job Requirements:
- Undergraduate Degree.
- Juris Doctor Degree.
- License to practice law in the Bankruptcy Courts in the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan.
- Maintain good standing in courts of any jurisdiction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Preferred experience in an hourly or flat fee compensation environment.
- Preferred experience in foreclosure proceedings and/or complex commercial litigation.
