Salary: Up To $112,000, Depending on Experience, with Room for Growth

Position Summary: The District Attorney's Office for Osage and Pawnee Counties Is Seeking an Assistant District Attorney to Serve in The Pawnee County Office. This Is a Unique Opportunity for An Attorney Who Wants Meaningful Courtroom Work, Real Responsibility, and The Chance to Serve a Rural Community Where a Good Prosecutor Can Make a Lasting Difference.

This Position Is Ideal for An Attorney Who Is Ready to Take Ownership of A Meaningful Public Service Role. the Pawnee County Ada Must Be Capable of Independently Managing the Day-To-Day Responsibilities of A County Prosecutor's Office, While Also Working as Part of A Larger District Team with Support from Other Assistant District Attorneys and The District Attorney. We Are Looking for Someone Who Wants to Serve a Community, Make Sound Decisions, Work Well with Others, Support Victims, Build Trust with Law Enforcement, and Uphold the Highest Standards of Ethical Prosecution.

Responsibilities:
The Assistant District Attorney Assigned to Pawnee County Will Be Responsible For:
  • Handling Criminal and Juvenile Cases in Pawnee County from Filing Through Final Disposition.
  • Making Sound, Ethical Charging and Plea Recommendation Decisions.
  • Preparing and Trying Cases Before a Jury.
  • Working Closely with Victims and Ensuring Their Rights and Voices Are Respected.
  • Collaborating with Law Enforcement Agencies in Case Preparation and Legal Guidance.
  • Maintaining Strong Professional Relationships with Courthouse Personnel, Judges, Court Staff, Defense Attorneys, Law Enforcement, and Community Partners.
  • Seeking Justice in A Way that Protects the Public, Respects the Law, and Maintains the Integrity OfThe Office.

Requirements:
Applicants Must Have:
  • A Juris Doctor Degree from An Accredited Law School.
  • A License to Practice Law in Oklahoma, or The Ability to Become Licensed in Oklahoma.
  • Strong Ethical Standards and Sound Judgment.
  • The Ability to Work Independently.
  • The Ability to Work Well with Victims, Law Enforcement, Courthouse Personnel, and The Public.
  • A Willingness and Ability to Do Trial Work.

Prior Prosecution or Criminal Law Experience Is Helpful, but The Most Important Qualifications Are Integrity, Judgment, Work Ethic, and The Ability to Handle Responsibility.
