Responsibilities:
This full-time, 12-month Instructional Specialist position serves as the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the A Preeminent University, overseeing the staff, operations and programming for the Office of Student Advancement. Reports to the Associate Dean of Student Advancement, and works closely with the university's Office of Financial Aid, Office of Accessibility Services, Center for Health and Wellness, and the Dean of Students Office.
  • Manages the Office of Student Advancement, including direct supervision of two professional positions and indirect supervision of other staff members.
  • Regularly meets with both J.D. and LL.M. students on a wide variety of issues, providing direction, resources and support.
  • Serves as the point of contact for the law school on financial aid and accessibility issues, including student counseling, data tracking, and implementing solutions.
  • Administers exams for students with accommodations and scheduling conflicts.
  • Conducts one-on-one exit interviews with graduating students.
  • Plans and coordinates major student events, including the Raising the Bar Professionalism+ Program, Summer for Undergraduates Program, Orientation programs, and Spring Commencement.
  • Provides support and oversight to student organizations, including coordination of programming and serving as faculty advisor to various organizations.
  • Serves as the director of the law school's Pro Bono program.
  • Provides assistance to the Dean and Dean of Students on other activities as needed, such as bar study loans, book awards, grade appeals, honor code inquiries, and general exams administration.

Qualifications:
A J.D. degree and minimum five years of experience in legal education is required. Applicants must have experience with student advising and curriculum/program design. Strong written and presentation skills, creativity and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior participation in legal and/or civic organizations is preferred.
