About the role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Attorney with 0–2 years of experience to join our in-house legal team. This role is ideal for someone who is excited to learn how a legal department operates within a global consumer products company and wants broad exposure to commercial, regulatory, and operational legal matters.
You will work closely with experienced in house counsel, partnering with business teams across many areas such as marketing, e commerce, supply chain, finance, tax, human resources, and operational functions. This is a high learning, high visibility role where curiosity, organization, and good judgment matter just as much as legal knowledge.
Primary Responsibilities:
Commercial & Contracting
- Draft, review, and assist in negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including:
- Marketing and influencer agreements
- Various vendor agreements (which may include, MSAs, SaaS Agreements, SOWs, DPAs, etc.)
- NDAs
- Support more senior attorneys in contract revisions and negotiations, with opportunities to grow responsibility over time.
- Partner with internal teams to provide timely, practical, and risk-balanced advice.
- Organize, cross-check, validate, and analyze information.
- Conduct research, issue-spotting, and day-to-day advisory matters.
- Prepare written correspondence and summaries for internal stakeholders.
- Provide support across a range of legal areas, including advertising, intellectual property, employment, data privacy, finance, supply chain, and real estate matters.
- Manage business and state licenses and registrations.
- Assist with operational tasks to support efficient legal processes and daily departmental needs.
- Support corporate governance and internal compliance initiatives.
- Help manage litigation, claims, and dispute resolution with outside counsel.
- Help maintain and improve legal templates, trackers, and internal processes.
- Build and maintain databases and files.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 0–2 years of experience at a law firm or in-house (experience in consumer products or commercial contracting preferred, but not required).
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a large volume of work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in dynamic environments.
- Strong analytical thinker with a proactive approach to identifying solutions and addressing challenges.
- Practical, curious, and business-minded approach to legal problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong written and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with e-commerce, retail, or CPG industries.
- Experience working cross-functionally with multiple teams.
