- Provide legal counsel to City leadership and departments on a variety of municipal matters.
- Prepare legal documents including contracts, ordinances, resolutions, policies, and legal opinions.
- Represent the City in legal proceedings, Board meetings, and administrative hearings as assigned.
- Protect the City's interests by supporting litigation, ensuring legal compliance, and helping manage risk.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
- Graduation from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association with a juris doctorate.
- A valid and current license to practice law in the State of Missouri.
- A license from another state with reciprocity may be accepted, provided the employee obtains Missouri licensure prior to beginning employment. Any application, licensing, or related costs associated with obtaining a Missouri law license are the sole responsibility of the employee.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in criminal law, business law, tax law, employment law or real estate law.
- Experience in tax law, employment law and real estate law.
- Familiarity with and understanding of Missouri state statues and municipal law.
- Experience with legal software such as Westlaw, case management systems, and legal matter intake software.
