The Office of the New York State Attorney General's (OAG) Investor
Protection Bureau (IPB), located in New York City, is seeking an
experienced attorney to lead and pursue complex investigations and
litigation using the Martin Act and other laws. IPB protects the public
from fraud and misrepresentation in the offering and sale of securities,
commodities, franchises, and other investment products. IPB is seeking
an attorney who can build on its storied history and robust authority to
protect the interests of investors in today's financial markets,
including the growing risks in areas such as virtual currencies;
addressing fraud in environmental, social, and governance (ESG)
disclosures; the marketing of complex and speculative investment
products to a broad range of retail investors; and the need for greater
racial equity across the financial system.
Applicants must reside in (or
intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to
practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law
requires that OAG attorneys be citizens of the United States. A two (2)
year commitment upon being hired is a condition of employment.
