Arbitration Case Handling
- Handle a high volume of individual and mass arbitration matters, primarily involving wage and hour violations.
- Assist in all phases of arbitration, including case development, discovery, briefing, arbitration preparation, and hearings.
- Draft and review arbitration demands, motions, discovery requests and responses, and settlement-related documents.
- Prepare clients and witnesses for arbitration proceedings as needed.
- Conduct legal research related to wage and hour laws, arbitration procedures, and provider-specific rules.
- Draft persuasive briefs, motions, and written advocacy under the guidance of senior attorneys.
- Ensure compliance with arbitration provider rules and deadlines (including AAA, JAMS, and other forums).
- Track and manage deadlines, filings, and procedural requirements across a high-volume caseload.
- Work closely with the Arbitration or Class Team Lead to execute case strategy and meet department goals.
- Coordinate with intake, pre-litigation, and operations teams to ensure cases are properly prepared and transferred into arbitration.
- Partner with legal assistants and support staff to maintain organized files and accurate documentation.
- Communicate with clients regarding case status, arbitration procedures, and next steps.
- Maintain professionalism, empathy, and responsiveness in all client interactions.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
- 3+ years of experience in employment law litigation or arbitration (wage and hour experience strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with arbitration forums such as AAA or JAMS preferred.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented litigation practice.
Salary Description
$130,000 - $160,000 /year
