Responsibilities:
- Draft and file appellate briefs, motions, and petitions in state and federal appellate courts, ensuring persuasive legal writing and strict compliance with procedural rules.
- Conduct detailed legal research and case analysis to develop effective appellate strategies and identify reversible error.
- Review trial court records, transcripts, and rulings to assess appellate issues and preserve arguments for review.
- Collaborate with trial attorneys and litigation teams to provide guidance on appellate considerations, issue preservation, and post-trial motions.
- Prepare for and present oral arguments before appellate courts, representing clients with professionalism and strong advocacy.
Qualifications:
- Well-versed in legal research software (Westlaw/Lexis)
- Prior experience working in a law firm for a minimum of 1-2 years required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is necessary
- Work independently while handling a heavy caseload
- Graduation from law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and experience in representing clients for at least 2 years
Compensation:
$120,000
