This position reviews and analyzes standard to complex multi-family loan proposals, conducts multi-family initial and final closings and prepares MSHDA legal documents associated with these closings; reviews and evaluates proposed and current MSHDA programs; drafts and/or reviews and edits proposed legislation and rules, program parameters, procedures and policy and/or office bulletins related to direct lending programs; prepares comments on federal regulations and programs related to direct lending programs; creates templates for complex legal documents for various state and federal programs; reviews real estate and bond closing documents for MSHDA limited obligation and, if assigned, general bond obligation issues; reviews Staff Reports and memos and drafts resolutions for routine and special projects and programs to be presented to the MSHDA Board; drafts Staff Reports, resolutions and selected documents for pass-through (limited obligation) bond closings; conducts research on various legal matters; consults and liaisons with the Department of Attorney General on various matters; provides guidance on the Open Meeting Act; reviews insurance coverage and policies for risk assessment and acts as liaison for MSHDA's insurance needs; the senior attorney will mentor less experienced attorneys and assist with the Director of Legal Transactions with work product reviews; reviews proposed leases and prepares form leases; and performs related work as assigned by the Director of Legal Transactions.

Required Education and Experience:
Education:
Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law.

Experience:
Administrative Law Specialist 13
No specific type or amount is required.

Administrative Law Specialist 14
One year of professional experience in legal work equivalent to an Administrative Law Specialist 13 or Administrative Law Examiner 13, or as an attorney.

Administrative Law Specialist P15
Two years of professional experience in legal work, including one year equivalent to an Administrative Law Specialist 14 or Administrative Law Examiner 14; or, two years of experience as an attorney.

Administrative Law Specialist 16
Three years of professional experience in legal work, including one year equivalent to an Administrative Law Specialist P15 or an Administrative Law Examiner P15; or, three years of experience as an attorney.
