A Patent Prosecution Law Firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ad Hoc Immigration Attorney to join our dynamic team. This is a project-based, contract position for an attorney specializing in business immigration law. The ideal candidate will be an expert in U.S. immigration processes for corporations, startups, and high-net-worth individuals, providing legal counsel and support on an as-needed basis for complex cases.

Location: Remote/Flexible

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and advise on a variety of business immigration cases, including but not limited to H-1B, L-1, O-1, E-1/E-2, and TN visas.
  • Prepare and file employment-based immigrant visa petitions, such as EB-1, EB-2 (including NIW), EB-3, and PERM applications.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to stay current on evolving immigration laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including petitions, briefs, and client communications.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to corporate clients on compliance, I-9 audits, and global mobility issues.
  • Communicate directly with clients to gather necessary information, provide case updates, and manage expectations.
  • Collaborate with our in-house legal team on complex or high-stakes cases.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission in good standing to a U.S. State Bar.
  • A minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience practicing U.S. business immigration law.
  • Proven track record of successfully handling a high volume of complex business immigration cases.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with a technology or enterprise-level company's immigration needs.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) online filing systems and procedures.
