Shiela Renee Sweat is the Founder of Sweat Law, PLLC. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Entertainment Business with honors from Full Sail University. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctor Degree, cum laude, from the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School where she was Law Review Editor and Champion of the Evidence Trial Competition. She received many awards including a Certificate of Merit in both Criminal Procedure and Professional Responsibility and was a Dux Honoree for ranking in the top 10% of her class for three consecutive years. Attorney Sweat began her legal career practicing insurance defense litigation. She was in-house counsel for a major insurance company handling First Party Property matters and was appointed the Corporation’s Corporate Representative in various cases. She transitioned her practice area to family law after having had her own family law troubles. She has prior experience in foreclosure, trademark infringement, landlord tenant and HOA disputes, property and life insurance defense, as well as construction defect litigation. While insurance defense yielded itself to be a lucrative career path, at heart, Attorney Sweat has always been a humanitarian with a true heart for people. As a two-time divorcee, domestic violence survivor, co-parent and step parent, Attorney Sweat understands first hand the emotional toll that families endure during these difficult times. Attorney Sweat has dedicated her entire practice to assist those who are experiencing similar family related issues. Attorney Sweat is originally from Pittsburgh, PA (Go Steelers!) and currently resides in the Tampa Bay area. She is happily married to Donathan Sweat, and they have a beautifully blended family raising five (5) children. Attorney Sweat is also an accomplished classical pianist and enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. She is kind, compassionate, and zealously advocates for her clients.
