Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated, in person only, Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join our legal team. In this role, you will represent employers and insurance carriers in workers' compensation claims, providing expert legal counsel and defense strategies. Duties:
- Manage a caseload of workers' compensation defense cases from inception through resolution, including trial preparation and court depositions.
- Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis to support case strategies and ensure compliance with statutory legal requirements.
- Draft and review legal documents such as contracts, motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, mediations, and depositions, advocating effectively on their behalf.
- Negotiate settlements with opposing parties to achieve optimal results for clients.
- Maintain detailed case management records, monitor deadlines, and ensure all procedural law requirements are met efficiently.
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding case developments, legal options, and strategic recommendations to foster trust and transparency.
Experience:
- 0-5 years experience practicing in workers' compensation law with a strong understanding of civil litigation.
- Familiarity with legal administrative processes including motion preparation, trial support, and procedural law knowledge.
- Prior experience using legal research tools such as LexisNexis is essential for effective case analysis.
- Strong negotiation skills coupled with excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and advocacy materials.
- Experience working in a law office setting with exposure to client communication, legal case management systems, and statutory research.
