With a strong foundation of client relationships, acquisitions, and growth potential, we are in the process of standing up new systems, processes, and controls to support our next phase of expansion. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the tax infrastructure of a high-growth platform from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as lead legal counsel for M&A and other strategic transactions from deal origination through integration
- Partner closely with corporate development, finance, tax, HR, and business unit leaders to evaluate opportunities and risks
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of complex agreements, including purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, and ancillary transaction documents
- Manage and coordinate legal due diligence, overseeing external counsel and internal stakeholders
- Provide clear, practical, and business-oriented legal advice to executives and deal teams
- Ensure compliance with securities, antitrust, employment, and regulatory requirements related to transactions
- Develop and refine internal processes and playbooks to increase efficiency in executing deals
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with New York Bar
- 7–10 years of experience in M&A, with significant time spent at a top law firm and/or in-house legal department
- Proven ability to lead all phases of complex transactions independently
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and strategic advisory skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate legal risks into practical business guidance
- Experience managing outside counsel and working cross-functionally with business stakeholders

The base salary range for this position is $192,000.00 – $241,000.00. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
