What You'll Do:

Serve as the primary legal advisor to executive leadership, guiding strategic decisions and ensuring compliance across all operations.
Oversee regulatory and consumer-lending compliance, including state and federal requirements (FDCPA, TILA, FCRA, CFPB, and related laws).
Lead corporate governance, licensing, and risk-management activities; prepare and advise on Board matters.
Manage and optimize relationships with outside counsel, regulators, and business partners.
Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements that drive growth while safeguarding SAFCO's interests.
Develop and lead compliance training, audits, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Stay ahead of legislative and regulatory trends affecting consumer finance.

What you bring:

Education: J.D. from an accredited law school; Florida Bar membership preferred (or Authorized House Counsel).
Experience: 7–10 years of progressive legal experience in consumer finance, banking, or financial-services compliance.
Expertise: Deep understanding of consumer-lending regulations, collections, credit reporting, and risk management.
Leadership: Proven ability to influence senior leaders, manage external counsel, and align legal strategy with business goals.
Mindset: Pragmatic, solutions-oriented advisor who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
