We're looking for an accomplished Vice President, General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer to serve as a key strategic advisor to our executive team and Board of Directors.

What You'll Do:
  • Serve as the primary legal advisor to executive leadership, guiding strategic decisions and ensuring compliance across all operations.
  • Oversee regulatory and consumer-lending compliance, including state and federal requirements (FDCPA, TILA, FCRA, CFPB, and related laws).
  • Lead corporate governance, licensing, and risk-management activities; prepare and advise on Board matters.
  • Manage and optimize relationships with outside counsel, regulators, and business partners.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements that drive growth while safeguarding SAFCO's interests.
  • Develop and lead compliance training, audits, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Stay ahead of legislative and regulatory trends affecting consumer finance.

What you bring:
  • Education: J.D. from an accredited law school; Florida Bar membership preferred (or Authorized House Counsel).
  • Experience: 7–10 years of progressive legal experience in consumer finance, banking, or financial-services compliance.
  • Expertise: Deep understanding of consumer-lending regulations, collections, credit reporting, and risk management.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to influence senior leaders, manage external counsel, and align legal strategy with business goals.
  • Mindset: Pragmatic, solutions-oriented advisor who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
