Description:
The Crossmore & Tiffany Law Office is seeking a competent and experienced lawyer to join our practice. The individual in this role will be responsible for appearing in court, interacting with clients, maintaining and progressing case files, adhering to deadlines, and acting as an advocate. The ideal candidate will have a background in Trusts and Estates Litigation, Estate Planning, and Elder Law. The attorney's position requires:- Attendance in Surrogates' and Supreme Courts on citation/motion terms, conferences, hearings, and trials
- Preparation of legal documents, including but not limited to pleadings, discovery, accountings
- Participation in depositions, mediations, and settlement discussions
- Legal research and writing
- Preparation of Wills and Trusts
- Assisting clients with Estate Planning needs
Lawyer Requirements and Qualifications:
- Familiarity with NYS Surrogates Courts and Surrogates Court Procedure Act
- Familiarity with Article 81 Guardianships and SCPA 17-a Guardianships
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Skills of persuasion and negotiation
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Strong computer skills and competency
- Professional attitude and strong personal ethics
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a law firm environment
- Admission to New York State Bar
- In person only, no remote work
Salary commensurate with experience.
