Description:
Build something exceptional—by the beach.
Beach Cities Estate Law is a firm known to work with high-net-worth and high-profile clients who expect thoughtful, precise, and well-structured planning—and we deliver at a level well above the typical local market.

Beach Cities Estate Law is not a volume-driven estate planning firm. Our attorneys are supported by a team, systems, and structure necessary to spend their time practicing law at a high level. We have built the operational foundation of a larger firm—practice management systems, document management, standardized workflows, and a dedicated team—and we are intentionally growing.

This is not a role for an attorney looking to build a solo practice in parallel. It is a role for an attorney who wants to grow within a team-oriented firm committed to long-term excellence, sophisticated client service, and building an enduring institution.

This is an opportunity for an attorney to join early and help shape a firm designed to scale—without sacrificing quality. If you are an attorney who wants to do excellent work, take ownership, and contribute to something enduring—while living and working in the Beach Cities—this may be a strong fit.

Position Overview—in a coastal setting
Our practice is built on a foundation of these shared principles that guide everything we do:
  • Beauty in what we produce: Our documents and client work are expected to be clear, precise, and thoughtfully structured. We take pride in craftsmanship.
  • Problem Solver: Our trust and estate matters are rarely routine. We look for people who engage with problems, think critically, and work toward clean, well-reasoned solutions.
  • Compassion: The clients we serve are often navigating important life decisions. Professionalism and empathy both matter.
  • Total Team: We operate as a team. We support each other, share responsibility for outcomes, and maintain consistent standards across the firm.

You will work directly with the firm's founder. The initial focus is execution and precision; over time, the role expands into client ownership and more complex planning.
  • You get to spend time being an attorney: Our operational structure and team support are designed to allow attorneys to focus on substantive legal work rather than administrative overload.
  • High-standard work: We routinely see estate plans from other firms during administration—and our standards are materially higher.
  • Direct exposure: You will work closely with the founder and see how decisions are made.
  • High-profile South Bay clientele: We advise successful families, business owners, and other sophisticated clients throughout the Beach Cities.
  • Built to scale: We already operate with the people, systems, and structure of a larger firm.
  • Beach Cities environment: Professional, focused, and grounded—without the downtown grind.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 (DOE)
  • Bonus: Opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses
  • Work Environment: Full-time, in-office role in Torrance (no hybrid or remote options) to support direct client engagement and seamless firm collaboration
  • Health Insurance: 100% company-paid Anthem Gold PPO (includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance)
  • Retirement: Traditional or Roth 401(k) with employer match
  • Time Off: PTO and holidays
  • Development: Firm-paid MCLE, networking events, and professional development
  • Wellness: Gym access and ClassPass wellness program

Responsibilities:
  • Draft estate planning documents (revocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and related instruments) with high accuracy and consistency.
  • Review and refine documents based on detailed feedback.
  • Participate in client meetings and assist with implementing planning strategies.
  • Coordinate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals.
  • Maintain high standards across all written work and client interactions.

Qualifications:
  • 3–5+ years of estate planning experience with precise drafting standards.
  • 2–5+ years in a high-expectation practice (e.g., corporate or tax).
  • Strong written communication and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to accept feedback, iterate quickly, and continuously improve.
  • Interest in developing long-term expertise in estate planning.

You are a fit if you
  • Prioritize doing things correctly over doing them quickly.
  • Value direct exposure to sophisticated clients over big-firm hierarchy.
  • Are driven by responsibility, growth, and contributing to firm operations over time.

This role is not for you if you
  • Prefer high-volume document churning over precision and detail.
  • Dislike receiving detailed feedback on your work.
  • Want a purely transactional position without high-level client strategy or operational involvement.
