Position Overview:- Role: Trust and Estate Attorney
- Duration: 6-month contract (with potential for full-time employment)
- Hours: Minimum of 10hours per week (set schedule during business hours)
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and review estate planning documents, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
- Manage California probate filings, trust administration tasks, and related legal matters with minimal supervision.
- Assist in preparing advanced estate planning strategies, such as tax-optimized plans and charitable planning documents.
- Conduct legal research on California trust, estate, tax, and probate laws to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Facilitate client consultations with professionalism, empathy, and subject matter expertise.
- Collaborate with other team members to support complex estate planning strategies, including asset protection and generational wealth transfer.
- Maintain organized and compliant client files in line with California legal standards.
- Utilize legal technology and software tools to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Licensed attorney with 3–5 years of relevant legal experience.
- Proven expertise in California trust, estate, tax, and probate laws—must be able to hit the ground running.
- Experience working with U.S.-based law firms or in a similar legal jurisdiction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Tech-savvy, with experience using legal management software and remote collaboration tools.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, drafting, and research skills.
- Client-focused approach with the ability to deliver seamless client experiences.
