Position Overview:
  • Role: Trust and Estate Attorney
  • Duration: 6-month contract (with potential for full-time employment)
  • Hours: Minimum of 10hours per week (set schedule during business hours)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  • Manage California probate filings, trust administration tasks, and related legal matters with minimal supervision.
  • Assist in preparing advanced estate planning strategies, such as tax-optimized plans and charitable planning documents.
  • Conduct legal research on California trust, estate, tax, and probate laws to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Facilitate client consultations with professionalism, empathy, and subject matter expertise.
  • Collaborate with other team members to support complex estate planning strategies, including asset protection and generational wealth transfer.
  • Maintain organized and compliant client files in line with California legal standards.
  • Utilize legal technology and software tools to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • Licensed attorney with 3–5 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Proven expertise in California trust, estate, tax, and probate laws—must be able to hit the ground running.
  • Experience working with U.S.-based law firms or in a similar legal jurisdiction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Tech-savvy, with experience using legal management software and remote collaboration tools.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, drafting, and research skills.
  • Client-focused approach with the ability to deliver seamless client experiences.
