Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and spousal support
  • Consider representing clients in guardian advocacy cases (training provided)
  • Conduct legal research, analyze cases, and prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, and appeals
  • Represent clients in court in person and by Zoom as required
  • Represent clients in mediation in person and by Zoom as required
  • Communication with clients with timely responses to their various questions is a must
  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients, advocating for their best interests and ensuring fair outcomes
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation or litigation proceedings as necessary
  • Maintain client confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in accordance with the Florida Bar Association guidelines
  • Utilize CMS and track billing accordingly
  • Adhere to office policies and procedures as outlined in the Handbook
  • Be ready to take a file and run with it because you truly know family law, South Florida family law judges, and the nuances behind it all, to add value to clients

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in family law practice
  • Member of the Florida Bar Association
  • Law degree from an accredited institution
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills
  • Resides in South Florida
  • Familiar with South Florida Judges and their procedures
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ready to pick up cases and run with them
  • Compassionate
  • Ability to work well with others while working independently
  • Zest for growth while maintaining a work/life balance
  • Knowledge of Case Management Systems (My Case Preferred but others acceptable because the navigation is the same
  • Compassion for people who are going through life's difficulties
