Description:
Responsibilities:- Manage a caseload of plaintiff personal injury matters from litigation through resolution
- Develop case strategies based on the facts, evidence, damages, and applicable law
- Evaluate claims, liability, damages, settlement value, and potential case outcomes
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
- Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
- Conduct discovery and identify, develop, and preserve evidence supporting the client's claims
- Communicate with clients throughout the litigation process and keep them informed of case developments
- Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel, insurance carriers, and other parties
- Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial
- Appear in court, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings as needed
- Develop trial strategies and prepare witnesses, exhibits, and arguments for trial
- Present opening and closing arguments, examine witnesses, and present evidence when handling trial matters
- Collaborate with case managers, legal support staff, and other attorneys to move cases efficiently toward resolution
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure all litigation deadlines and procedural requirements are met
- Handle cases in accordance with applicable laws, court rules, ethical requirements, and firm procedures
Qualifications:
- Active license to practice law in California and in good standing
- Experience handling plaintiff personal injury matters preferred
- Experience in civil litigation, including discovery, depositions, motions, and settlement negotiations
- Strong understanding of California personal injury law and civil procedure
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and case management skills
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills
- Confident courtroom presence and ability to effectively communicate with judges, opposing counsel, witnesses, and clients
- Ability to independently assess cases, exercise sound legal judgment, and develop effective litigation strategies
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Client-focused approach with the ability to build trust and maintain strong attorney-client relationships

Availability to work in Pacific Time (Los Angeles, California time)
