Job Description:Trial Attorney
Are you a motivated Trial Attorney ready to take the next step in your legal career? Join our team and make a direct impact handling complex insurance defense and bodily injury litigation matters. We are seeking an attorney with 3–5 years of litigation experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to manage cases from inception through trial.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of bodily injury and insurance defense matters from initial assignment through resolution
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and coverage opinions
- Take and defend depositions, attend court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Develop litigation strategies in partnership with claims professionals and outside experts
- Evaluate liability and damages exposure to support effective case resolution
- Negotiate settlements and represent the company's interests in contested matters
- Maintain proactive communication with clients, claims teams, opposing counsel, and the courts
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, court rules, and legal best practices
- Participate in professional development and contribute to team initiatives
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Massachusetts; additional New England state admissions are a plus
- 3–5 years of litigation and/or trial experience, preferably in insurance defense or bodily injury matters
- Strong courtroom, deposition, negotiation, and case management skills
- Experience handling complex liability matters and working collaboratively with claims teams
- Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of Massachusetts and New Hampshire litigation experience preferred
Salary Range:
The pay range for this position is $107,500- $134,000 annually. Actual compensation will vary based on multiple factors, including employee knowledge and experience, role scope, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
