Description:
A well-established insurance defense firm is seeking a seasoned Trial Attorney with significant courtroom experience to join our New Jersey office. This role is specifically for attorneys with prior insurance defense experience who are confident first-chair trial attorneys and comfortable handling complex matters through verdict.This position offers substantial responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to take cases to trial in a collaborative and professional environment that values litigation excellence and strategic advocacy.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as first-chair trial counsel on insurance defense matters
- Manage a caseload from inception through trial and post-trial proceedings
- Develop and execute trial strategy, including jury selection, opening/closing arguments, and witness examinations
- Conduct and defend depositions, including expert depositions
- Draft and argue dispositive and pre-trial motions
- Handle court appearances, conferences, arbitrations, and mediations
- Provide litigation strategy recommendations and case evaluations to carriers
- Maintain regular communication with insurance clients and provide detailed reporting
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience (required)
- Demonstrated first-chair trial experience with verdicts (required)
- Admitted to practice in New Jersey (required)
- Strong deposition, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy skills
- Excellent writing, analytical, and case management abilities
- Ability to independently manage a full caseload and trial calendar
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $175,000 – $225,000 per year
