Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Trial Attorney to join our Personal Injury firm. The Trial Attorney will assist in all aspects of cases and ensure efficient and effective handling of cases while practicing law ethically and responsibly. The position will have the option of working from our Woburn and/or Boston office with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Team Leader Attorney as needed and complete all tasks assigned and functions for all aspects of the litigation process for cases assigned including preparing, directing, reviewing, and/or overseeing the drafting of pleadings, discovery, motions, ADR memorandums, trial documents, settlement documents, and/or other documents as applicable to the litigation of the case
  • Conduct and/or attend all necessary events including depositions, settlement hearings, Court hearings, trials, mediations, arbitrations, examinations under oath, or other similar events
  • Adhere to firm policies and procedures and ensure all applicable information/data points are continuously updated in the case management software
  • Report to and support the Team Leader Attorney by performing and/or managing all aspects of the pre-suit process for cases assigned to the Team including:
  • Preparing, directing, reviewing and/or overseeing the drafting of client contracts
  • Conducting and coordinating client meetings and ensuring proper client communication throughout the life cycle of their case
  • Drafting and/or conducting communication to/from insurers, settlement demands, and/or other documents or information as applicable to the progression of the case
  • Conducting research, interviews, and investigations
  • Overseeing lien management
  • Overseeing the coordination of medical records
  • Evaluate cases to determine the degree of potential liability and damages
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff within the firm

Experience & Skills:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Massachusetts
  • 0-3 years of experience preferably with a focus on personal injury litigation (Open to those awaiting bar admission)
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong understanding of personal injury law, Massachusetts Rules of Civil Procedure and Massachusetts Rules of Evidence
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to advocate effectively for clients
