A Justice & Wellness Law Firm is seeking an attorney to join our team in Austin, TX. At Just Well, we help sick families recover from the companies and governments that made them sick. We focus primarily on toxic exposure (clean air and clean water) and have an active docket in Texas and around the country.We are building a new and different kind of personal injury firm. We have found extraordinary success and growth since our opening just three years ago. We succeed by focusing on our clients and their experiences with the justice system. We are helping them take a stand against the institutions that poisoned them. Our work has started a movement of survivors around the country. In addition to our toxic exposure cases in Texas, NC, and FL, we currently represent over 7,500 clients in an FTCA case against the Navy for the contamination of the drinking water in Hawaii.
Our new Austin attorney will focus primarily on federal exposure cases. They will have a six-figure base salary, a strong benefits package, and an industry leading contingent-fee sharing compensation. There will be no compensation caps, and successful candidates will have a large upside.
We offer a hybrid work from home model, with an office in a quaint and relaxing atmosphere near downtown Austin. We are looking for an attorney who can own their responsibilities, while also receiving expert legal guidance, paralegal support and training through the firm.
What You'll Do:
- Write persuasive offers of settlement, complaints, motions, and responses to motions;
- Manage a docket of firm cases + assist on larger mass exposure cases;
- Discuss potential cases with clients referred from our intake team to evaluate whether they have a viable case that fits with our mission statement;
- Negotiate with opposing counsel on discovery and settlement;
- Provide legal advice directly to the clients and help them navigate the claims and legal process;
- Craft legal strategy in response to litigation and supervise litigation activities.
Who You Are:
- 2+ years of experience as a licensed, practicing attorney.
- Organized, self-starter.
- Ability to develop legal strategy and objectives.
- Excellent judgement and analytical skills.
- First class interpersonal and communication skills.
- J.D. degree.
- Member in good standing of their respective state bar.
