Description:
A Successful Litigation and Bankruptcy Law Firm seeks a litigation associate for its Transportation Practice Group. Good academic credentials and strong references are required.Role and Responsibilities:
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Independently manage a litigation caseload.
- Regularly handle court appearances and depositions.
- Conduct legal research, prepare for, and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel.
- Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients.
- Communicate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently.
- Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is readily available for other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
- This position includes expected billable hours of 1900-2200 per year.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience of litigation experience.
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: logistics, general liability, and transportation.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Candidates must be licensed in Texas
