A Chicago, Illinois (IL) Employment and Civil Rights Litigation Law Firm seeks to hire an experienced associate attorney for its transactional practice in the Chicago, Illinois office. A Chicago, Illinois (IL) Employment and Civil Rights Litigation Law Firm is nationally known for representing non-profit organizations in transactional matters, many of which are focused on empowering communities through providing affordable housing and quality healthcare. Our practice has represented general non-profit clients in all facets of operation, including corporate governance, contract review, asset purchases, leases and sales, personnel matters, and strategic planning. The firm has an affordable-housing practice that spans four decades; we represent low-income housing developers, both non-profit and for-profit, in the acquisition, construction, and rehab of affordable housing. In addition, the firm counsels federally qualified health centers in a full spectrum of legal activity related to the delivery of high-quality health care to underserved communities; a variety of social service agencies that deliver a spectrum of care to children and seniors; and a host of not for profit entities that provide educational services and other philanthropic-related services to families and individuals

Approximately 3-5 years of experience with real estate law, complex commercial real estate finance, and some knowledge of government financing is preferred. Experience with not-for-profit corporations and corporate general practice is welcome, but not required. Strong communication and writing skills, as well as the ability to multi-task, to work independently, and to work collaboratively with others are desired. Attention to detail, a demonstrated interest in economic development and/or our practice areas, and strong technology skills are sought as well.
