The Opportunity:We're looking for an attorney to join Adobe's Ethics and Compliance Office, working to ensure Adobe acts with integrity across its business. The role will have a strong focus on trade compliance and will also stretch across other compliance matters, including anti-bribery and corruption. This role is part of a collaborative and tight-knit team, reporting to Adobe's Director of Trade Compliance within the Ethics and Compliance Office. You'll work with business and legal teams across Adobe to deliver business-centric advice and develop practical solutions that use technology to drive compliance.
What You'll Do:
- Advise Adobe product teams on global trade regulations, including sanctions, export controls, customs, and supply chain rules.
- Provide day-to-day trade and anticorruption compliance guidance and track emerging regulatory trends
- Advise Adobe's restricted party screening function on controls, processes, and procedures, including supporting and developing automation.
- Provide strategic trade and anticorruption compliance advice for complex commercial agreements, including drafting and negotiating terms.
- Maintain strong relationships across the business to effectively spot and address trade and antibribery/anticorruption compliance risks.
- Support trade and anticorruption compliance activities related to merger-and-acquisition due diligence and business-integration activities.
- Provide training on trade compliance topics to cross-functional teams, including sales, product, engineering, and legal colleagues.
- Handle regulatory inquiries and filings with U.S. and other agencies, as needed.
- Advise on other compliance matters.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Law degree/JD, with a mix of law firm and in-house experience preferred;
- 3-5 years of legal experience advising on U.S. economic sanctions and export control laws and other compliance regulations;
- Experience advising multinational companies (preferably in the tech sector) on non-U.S. trade laws, including EU and UK sanctions and export control regimes;
- Passion for developing and using technology in legal practice;
- Highly effective communicator who can translate complex regulations into actionable guidance for business and compliance teams;
- A self-starter who can operate independently in a dynamic global environment;
- An approachable and flexible manner with a great sense of humor; and
- Willingness to work flexible hours (this role requires frequent collaboration with non-US-based team members).
