Position Overview:
We are on the lookout for a licensed Real Estate Attorney to become a member of our Portfolio Real Estate Transaction Team.
This position involves conducting thorough reviews and title documents for residential asset data tapes consisting of multi-state and multi-property transactions. The ideal candidate must have a background in real estate law and demonstrate proficiency exceptional communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work performed.
Job Description:
We are seeking an attorney with experience in real estate law whose primary responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate the review of Deeds for the transfer of real property assets prepared by our Attorney Vendor Network.
- Review of information contained for accuracy of the Deeds and Deed Forms prepared for recording with the county.
- Retrieving and uploading title documents to various clients.
- Handling multiple vendors efficiently in relation to the work they are performing to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Examination of CC&Rs, Title Searches, Prior Deeds for vesting, parcel numbers, legal descriptions, signatures blocks, legal entities on LLC Agreements.
- Draft, prep and proofread deeds, trust/mortgages, amendments, assignments and affidavits for accuracy, utilizing Microsoft Word or PDF Writer.
- Notify the Escrow Team where their assistance is needed to address pending items with the deeds.
- Become familiar with underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated limits to underwrite the issuance of title insurance.
- Conduct legal research related to real estate law using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
- Complete HOA Closing Certificates and 15G/15E certifications for securitizations as part of overall production responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience at Title Insurance, Escrow, and Management.
- Proficient MS Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Collaborative; excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills with ability to meet deadlines.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active Bar license required.
