Fellowship Program
Now in its ninth year, the Larry D. Thompson Legacy of Leadership Fellowship Program will award fellowships to first-generation,1 first-year law students who will also be part of the 1L Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Scholars Program. The 2024 Fellowship Program will feature a collaboration between An American Multinational Food, Snack and Beverage Corporation. Fellows will complete a ten-week program in total. The program will begin with seven weeks with An American Multinational Food, Snack and Beverage Corporation based in either Purchase, NY or Plano, TX beginning on May 20, 2024, followed by three weeks with Weil in the firm's offices in either New York, NY or Dallas, TX. Fellows will also be invited to participate in the 2024 LCLD 1L Scholars Virtual Experience, which begins on June 4, 2024. Thompson Fellows will receive a weekly stipend of $2,000, subject to applicable with holdings.

Thompson Fellows will have the opportunity to work on projects and with attorneys across various An American Multinational Food, Snack and Beverage Corporation offices, as well as the opportunity to work with Weil attorneys across the firm. The fellowship curriculum will include guest speakers, seminars, and opportunities to work in various areas, such as:

During An American Multinational Food, Snack and Beverage Corporation portion of the Program, each fellow will be assigned an attorney mentor and provided with real, hands-on assignments in support of An American Multinational Food, Snack and Beverage Corporation business.

Qualifications:
Defined as a student whose parent(s) or legal guardians did not complete a four-year college or university degree.

Required Qualifications:
  • First-generation,1 first-year law student (anticipated graduation date in 2026), in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school in the U.S.
  • Strong academic achievement
  • Excellence in oral and written communication skills
  • Be eligible to work in United States without work authorization sponsorship now or anytime in the future
