Job Overview:
General Purpose:
Performs professional legal work on a part-time basis to support the County Attorney's Office by providing legal research and analysis. This position provides part-time coverage through September 20, 2026 with a possible extension to March 1, 2027, to address workload demands and special projects while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and County policies.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
  • Conduct Legal Research and Analysis on Statues, Case Law, Ordinances, and Regulatory Requirements Relevant to Assigned Matters.
  • Prepare, Review, and Revise Legal Documents Including Pleadings, Motions, Briefs, Contracts, Agreements, and Memoranda.
  • Draft Legal Opinions and Recommendations to Support Decision-Making and Ensure Compliance with Federal, State, and Local Laws.
  • Demonstrate Working Knowledge of The Rules of Evidence, Civil Procedure, and Other Relevant Nebraska Statues.
  • Review, Analyze, and Interpret Contracts, Agreements, and Procurement Documents to Ensure Legal Sufficiency and Compliance with Federal, State, and Local Laws.
  • Perform Other Duties as Assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of An Accredited Law School with A Juris Doctor Degree.
  • Must Be Licensed to Practice Law in The State of Nebraska.
  • Must Be a Member in Good Standing with The Nebraska Bar Association.
  • Have and Maintain a Valid Driver's License, as Well as Meet Eligibility Requirements of “acceptable Driving Standards” as Defined by The County.
