Overview:
We are seeking a tax attorney with 5+ years of experience, to support various Fredrikson practice groups' M&A transactional activities. This role will focus primarily on advising on federal and state tax aspects of structuring buy- and sell-side M&A transactions across a wide range of industries. The ideal candidate will have experience advising on tax-related structuring of transactions, drafting and negotiating tax-related provisions in purchase agreements and other transactional documents, collaborating with deal teams to identify and mitigate tax risks and optimize transaction outcomes, and providing guidance on federal, state, and international tax issues relevant to transactional work. We will consider candidates interested in working in any of our offices, although candidates who would be based in our Minneapolis office are preferred. While not required, we are open to considering candidates who are currently partners at a law firm or who have full or partial portable books of business with availability to also support tax matters in M&A transactions.
Our Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- 5+ years of related experience
- Prior experience in private practice
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills
- Strong academic background
- J.D. from an ABA-Accredited Law School
- Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and ability to promptly get admitted in the state of Minnesota

The salary range for this position varies by geographical market. In Minneapolis, the estimated starting annual pay range is $240,000 - $265,000 per year. Higher starting compensation may be offered to an attorney with more experience than an associate and/or a portable book of business. The compensation offered will be dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, education, professional background, overall qualifications, and geographic market location.
