O'Connor Family Law (OCFL) is seeking 1-2 highly skilled, emotionally intelligent, and operationally disciplined family law attorneys to serve as a Supervising Partner within our growing family law firm with offices in Westborough and Hanover, Massachusetts.

This role is designed for attorneys who are strong legal strategists, natural mentors, calm under pressure, highly accountable, and capable of helping to build and scale a premium family law division.

The Supervising Partner will serve as the primary legal supervision and attorney development layer within the firm. The role bridges the gap between production and executive leadership while helping to create a scalable legal infrastructure that protects client experience, legal quality, profitability, and operational consistency.

This is not an ownership position, but it is a leadership position that comes with substantial influence, compensation upside, and long-term advancement opportunity. The compensation structure includes base salary and performance-based incentives for leadership, origination, and collections.

The Supervising Partner Opportunity
This role is ideal for an experienced family law attorney who wants leadership influence, high-level litigation work, mentorship responsibilities, operational impact, and compensation growth, without the pressure or risk of equity ownership.

This role is specifically designed for attorneys who enjoy teaching and developing attorneys, thrive in fast-paced environments, can manage legal complexity calmly, and want to help build a sophisticated legal division.

Responsibilities:
  • Attorney Supervision & Development (Serve as the primary escalation point for associate attorney legal strategy questions, Coach and mentor developing attorneys, Conduct file strategy reviews, Support hearing and trial preparation, Identify legal risk and quality control issues, Help improve attorney judgment and independence, Assist in onboarding and training new attorneys)
  • Legal Operations & Quality Control (Ensure legal consistency across the team, Improve workflow efficiency, Support SOP implementation and legal systems development, Reduce unnecessary write-offs and realization leakage, Monitor legal quality and client experience standards, Help maintain accountability and case movement)
  • Litigation & Client Representation (Maintain a reduced but meaningful caseload, Handle complex litigation matters, Assist with high-risk or high-conflict cases, Participate in advanced legal strategy development, Model high-level client communication and professionalism)
  • Leadership Contribution (Help strengthen firm culture, Support accountability systems, Participate in legal department leadership meetings, Contribute to long-term legal division scalability)
  • What Success Looks Like as a Supervising Partner
  • A successful Supervising Partner will help to improve attorney competency, reduce attorney dependency, improve realization, reduce operational bottlenecks, strengthen legal consistency, and improve overall legal division performance. This role is both a high-level attorney role AND a leadership infrastructure role.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar membership in good standing
  • Minimum 5+ years of family law litigation experience (including trial experience)
  • Extensive experience in family law practice with a proven track record of managing complex cases independently
  • Strong courtroom and negotiation skills
  • Strong legal judgment
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong emotional intelligence
  • Ability to manage multiple attorneys and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and accountability skills
  • Ability to provide clear feedback and mentorship

Preferred:
  • Prior supervision or mentorship experience
  • Experience leading litigation strategy
  • Experience building legal systems or workflows
  • Experience in improving realization and collections
  • Leadership experience in a high-volume law firm environment

Compensation:
$155,000 - $300,000 Total annual compensation
