Description:

We are looking for an associate to join our Strategic Transactions and Licensing group (“Tech Group”) in Boston. The Tech Group collaborates with leading venture-backed startups and venture capital firms in technology, life sciences, AI, financial services, and consumer products. Associates will develop expertise throughout the entire lifecycle of a company, handle multiple matters concurrently, and have client contact from Day 1. As a Tech Group associate, you will:

Draft and negotiate licensing, partnering, and commercial agreements.
Provide general intellectual property, privacy, and business/product counseling directly to clients.
Work on and manage transactions in all stages of our clients' businesses, from formation to financings to both buy and sell-side acquisitions and beyond.

We will consider strong candidates with experience in either (1) strategic and/or commercial contracts drafting and negotiation, (2) deal management of venture financing and/or M&A transactions, who are looking to expand their practice to include more holistic company counseling and/or (3) we will consider strong candidates with experience in patent litigation or prosecution who are looking to transition to a transactional licensing and commercial practice.

Job Requirements:

JD 2023-2024
Eagerness to work with startup and venture capital clients
Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following: commercial contracts drafting, negotiation and/or venture financing or M&A transactions, and/or candidates with experience in IP litigation and/or patent prosecution are preferred
Admission to or eligible to waive into the State Bar of Massachusetts
Superior academic credentials from a top law school and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
A technical degree is not required, but enthusiasm for and a willingness to learn about emerging technology is a must
Previous large law firm experience preferred

Salary Range:
$235,000 – $260,000
