We are looking for an experienced felony prosecutor to assist in our Homicide/Major Crimes Unit.

Our office is responsible for the prosecution of all crimes committed in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton counties.

We are currently recruiting attorneys with prosecutorial experience for lateral hires. The ideal applicant will have five to ten years of experience prosecuting criminal cases of homicides and other major crimes or an equivalent amount of experience in criminal litigation in Florida. Qualified applicants should have experience in homicide investigations, preparing indictments and informations, presenting to a grand jury, preparing jury instructions and sentencing enhancements. Applicants should also have a working knowledge of issuing subpoenas, witness preparation and trial presentations. The prosecutor will be expected to carry a caseload of multiple cases and death penalty experience a plus but not required. Applicants must have a proven record prosecuting felony cases along with excellent communication and critical thinking skills. Employment will require professional interaction with the public, law enforcement and office staff. Applicants may be tasked with responding to crime scenes. The prosecutor would be expected to perform duties and daily tasks with minimal supervision. Applicants must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
