For over 30 years, An In-House Firm has delivered exceptional title support, emphasizing legal opinion as a fundamental safeguard for home sellers and purchasers. As we continue our expansion, we're seeking a highly motivated Staff Attorney to elevate our Legal team.Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough title examinations and offer support for both residential and multi-site commercial real estate transactions, from production to underwriting to closing.
- Apply underwriting guidelines and attorney judgment to proactively resolve title and escrow complexities, coordinate with underwriting, and support member attorneys and staff
- Partner cross-functionally with Support, Underwriting, and Escrow teams to deliver seamless closings.
- Mentor junior legal staff—providing direction, knowledge sharing, and best practices.
- Act as a trusted liaison in key industry associations (e.g., ILTA, IRELA) to promote PNTN and stay current in industry developments.
- Draft, review, and negotiate real estate documents (e.g., leases, LLC agreements, easements).
- File required corporate documentation and reports as needed
- Maintain clear, proactive communication with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle.
What you bring:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school; active Illinois bar membership in good standing.
- Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in real estate transactions—both residential and commercial.
- Comprehensive understanding of title insurance principles, relevant regulations, legal codes, courtroom processes, etc.
- Practical expertise with corporate governance matters—LLCs, leases, operating agreements, etc.
- Superior analytical, communication (written and oral), and time-management skills under tight deadlines.
- High-level computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite, transaction management platforms).
- Demonstrated academic excellence and leadership capabilities.

Work Location:
- Based in our Chicago Loop office (in-person).
- Occasional travel to satellite offices as needed.
