Provides legal counsel and advice to the corporation and its subsidiaries to ensure their effective operation in accordance with federal, state, local, and/or international laws

Essential Functions:
  • Provides legal counsel and guidance to FedEx to ensure legal compliance and protection of its rights.
  • Assesses legal risks, prepares legal documents, represents the company in legal matters, and provides on-the-spot legal advice.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Education:
Juris Doctorate degree from an Accredited Bar Association (ABA) and admission to the bar.

Minimum Experience:
  • Four (4) years' experience and demonstrated competency relevant to area of legal specialization.
  • Superior academic record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
  • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Ability to analyze, review, and make recommendations. Ability to work and influence peers and senior management.

Preferred Qualifications:
If External hire, experience in transactions. If an internal hire, interest in transactions. Good communication and writing skills are necessary. Skilled research is preferred. Risk assessment, business acumen, agility and adaptability desired.

Pay:
Staff Attorney: $7,521.48 -$15,042.95 /mo | Sr Attorney I/II: $9,932.42 - $19,864.85 /mo | Sr Counsel: $10,514.54 - $21,029.09 /mo

Additional Details:
This position will be hybrid in Memphis, TN and candidates must live within a 50-mile radius. Employees will be required to work at a FedEx office location up to several times per week.
