Job Summary:
At the direction of the General Counsel, draft, review, and approve contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements and TCC policies. This position will work independently on a wide range of legal matters and provide counsel and support to sponsored programs office, risk management, and campus safety/compliance. The staff attorney will develop, review, and implement institutional policies, provide legal research and drafting of memoranda in support of the General Counsel.

Essential Duties:
  • Draft, review, edit, and approve contracts in TCC contract database.
  • Develop, review, and implement institutional policies, provide legal research and drafting of memoranda in support of the General Counsel.
  • Provide counsel and support to sponsored programs office, risk management, and campus safety/compliance.
  • Other office support as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • License to practice law and in good standing in the State of Oklahoma.
  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D., J.D., Ed.D.), Juris Doctorate degree, or LLM from an ABA accredited law school. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.
  • Three years of relevant experience at the time of hiring.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with and previous principled use of AI research tools.
  • Knowledge of the legal environment in the State of Oklahoma.
  • Three years experience in providing legal advice in corporate or educational setting.
  • Three years experience working on government or state agency contracts.
