Description:

The Chapter 13 Standing Trustee for the Seattle Division of the Western District of Washington administers Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. The Trustee is accepting applications from qualitied individuals for full time employment as a staff attorney. This position will be an in-office position with the possibility of working one day remotely after approximately three months of satisfactory employment.

Responsibilities include:
  • Providing legal advice and counsel to the Trustee on all issues regarding the requirements imposed by the Bankruptcy Code in the Trustee's administration of Chapter 13 cases.
  • Representing the Trustee in court proceedings
  • Reviewing cases and conducting meetings of creditors
  • Drafting and filing pleadings
  • Handling adversary proceeding litigation as needed
  • Handling a high volume of cases
  • Working with paralegals and legal assistants on case management
  • Providing advice and guidance to office personnel
  • Handling additional duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Law degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Washington State Bar license
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast paced, dynamic legal organization Abilit to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Consumer bankruptcy experience preferred but not necessarily required

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Starting annual salary range for the position is approximately $105,024 to $118,152 depending on experience, although the position annual salary range is $105,024 to $157,537
