A Government Entity is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system employs nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks.

A Government Entity has an immediate need for a Staff Attorney in Daviess County. The COA Staff Attorney is responsible for review of legal briefs and appellate record, in-depth legal research, and preparation of legal memoranda for judges' review.

Examples of Duties or Responsibilities of this Classification:
  • Review of legal briefs and appellate record.
  • Perform in-depth legal research and analysis.
  • Assist court in preparing, editing and release of opinions.
  • Remain current as to changes in the law and recent decisions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
  • EDUCATION: Advanced Degree - graduate of accredited law school
  • EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE
  • Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
  • Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Graduate of accredited law school and in good standing with KBA. Excellent formal writing skills. Excellent research skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
