Salary Range: $68,896 - $98,391.00 per annum

Municipal Employees Legal Services (MELS) is a benefit which provides free legal services to employees and retirees covered under the Union's collective bargaining agreement. MELS is funded through employer contributions to DC 37's Health and Security Plan.

Housing Unit Staff Attorneys are part of a team of lawyers, social workers and legal assistants who represent clients facing eviction from their homes and any of the five boroughs and parts of Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk counties. Attorneys are assigned to practice in a particular county of counties.

Staff Attorneys have direct responsibility for all legal components of cases from the initial intake to the conclusion of the matter. Staff Attorneys are expected to become proficient in Landlord-Tenant practice and work under the direction of a Supervising Attorney.
