Job Description:
This position is for attorneys interested in litigating and trying cases at the highest level involving cases that shape employment law across Michigan. Our Employment Section offers the opportunity to do exactly that. While prior employment law or litigation experience is preferred, it is not required. We value drive, curiosity and a commitment to excellence and we provide the training and support needed for you to thrive.

Our team represents and advises state departments across a wide and constantly evolving spectrum of employment issues. We operate collaboratively, share expertise and take pride in delivering exceptional advocacy on behalf of the State of Michigan.

Our attorneys have recently:
  • Prevailed in jury and bench trials in both state and federal courts
  • Argued before the Michigan Court of Appeals, Michigan Supreme Court and the Sixth Circuit Court
  • Submitted briefs on significant issues before the United States Supreme Court

The work is dynamic and intellectually challenging. In this role, you will brief cutting-edge constitutional and statutory issues with substantial fiscal impacts, take and defend depositions, handle administrative proceedings, address union grievances and provide strategic counsel to client agencies on non-litigation matters.

Our mission is to remain a premier employment defense boutique through specialization, teamwork, outstanding advocacy and continual learning. Whether you are an experienced litigator or just beginning your career in employment law, we will equip you with the tools, mentorship and opportunities needed for success.
