A Multi-Practice Area Law Firm is seeking a seasoned, dedicated, full-time Special Education Attorney.

To the right candidate we offer a salary between $65,000 and $165,000, 80% of health insurance paid (Employee Only Plan) and other benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Advocate for an appropriate evaluation to protect a child's rights and interests.
  • Protect a child's rights to free, appropriate public education as they advance from one grade to another.
  • Help ensure that a child with special needs is educated in the least restrictive environment.
  • Help ensure a child's IEP is tailored according to your child's needs and advocate for necessary accommodations
  • Provide legal representation to families of children with disabilities in matters related to special education law
  • Help parents thorough evaluations of their case to determine the best course of action.
  • Represent clients in meetings, hearings, and other proceedings related to special education disputes.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the NY state bar and in good standing.
  • At least 3 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on special education or disability rights preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
