Position Overview: As a Special Education Attorney, you will play a crucial role in representing parents and students in matters related to special education law. You will be responsible for providing legal counsel, guidance, and representation to families navigating the complex landscape of special education services and rights. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an attorney passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with disabilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Legal Representation: Advocate for the rights of students with disabilities through legal representation in due process hearings, mediation, and other legal proceedings.
  • Case Management: Manage a caseload of special education cases, ensuring that each client receives personalized attention and effective legal representation.
  • Legal Consultation: Provide expert legal advice and guidance to parents, educators, and school districts regarding special education laws and regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to deliver comprehensive legal services and achieve successful outcomes for clients.
  • Client Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication with clients, keeping them informed about case progress, legal strategies, and potential outcomes.
  • Legal Research: Stay informed about developments in special education law and regulations, conducting legal research as needed to strengthen cases.

Qualifications:
  • Admission to the California State Bar.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience practicing special education law.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state special education laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Compassionate and dedicated to advocating for the rights of children with disabilities.
